The Hobbit : Desolation of Smaug Red Carpet Premiere

Today\’s walk down memory lane post is on the Desolation of Smaug premiere which occurred in Los Angeles on December 2, 2013.  The premiere was being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.  I had camped out overnight to get a good spot (which ended up not being a very good spot) for the premiere.  There was lots of drama that day, but I gave up my passes to attend the premiere to have a chance to see the actors up close and get some pictures.  I ended up getting into the premiere via a friend who won tickets to go inside.

Unfortunately, Richard Armitage and Benedict Cumberbatch only went to the far corner of the fan area which wasn\’t where I was.  Thankfully, I had my telephoto lens so I was able to get some decent photos of them anyway.

For The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies premiere, I decided I would rather go into the premiere instead of camp out.  I took my youngest niece with me, and it was her first premiere.  I think she had fun.
