LBCC – Buffy the Vampire Slayer Panel

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Panel

This is a brief post because I arrived at the panel late because I wasn\’t sure if I should just wait to get in line for the John Barrowman panel (which would start 2 1/2 hours later). The panels were being held in neighboring rooms, and there wasn\’t anyone waiting for John Barrowman, so I caught the last half of the Buffy panel.  

The highlight was watching Nicholas Brendan do his Joss Whedon impression (part of which is in the video below).

Nicholas also talked about how Joss created Firefly for him (the role of Mal was intended for him), but due to scheduling and the network, the role of Mal went to Nathan Fillion.  It was the first item I had heard that, and it gave me a new perspective on Nicky\’s role on Buffy after he lost Firefly.  

After the panel, I was waiting in the hall for John Barrowmans\’ panel, and I saw Nicholas go outside.  I could see him through the glass windows/walls just sitting at one of the tables smoking a cigarette with no one approaching or paying any attention to him.  I\’m glad that he can have time to himself with all that he\’s going through.  He was only taking a smoke break before heading to the floor for signings (or photos).
