Today’s flashback Friday post is from July of 2015. The ArcLight Cinemas often hosts Q&As after select screenings. These are not free screenings, but they are usually on the film’s opening night. I absolutely had to buy a ticket to see Sir Ian McKellen in person! I sat in the second row for the movie, something I only do when there is a Q&A, and the space between the screen and first row of seats is quite large at the ArcLight theaters so there’s not much neck craning to watch a film from the front row.

Most of the audience questions were from aspiring actors who wanted advice from Ian McKellen, which I found a little annoying….especially after the first two.

The film is interesting as we see Sherlock Holmes at the end of his life, and without any friends. The bond formed between Holmes and his housekeeper’s son is quite endearing and sweet, and it’s the focus of the film rather than the “case” to which Holmes is preoccupied with.

If you have a chance to watch them film, please do, especially if you are a fan of the famous detective.
