Emmy Awards 2016
Red Carpet Bleachers Experience
September 18, 2016
The Emmys program we received.
I won a seat in the fan bleachers for the Emmys red carpet on an extremely hot day in Los Angeles. Thankfully, the organizers provided us with plenty of water (see the cute Emmy labels on the bottles!) They didn\’t allow \”professional\” cameras so I couldn\’t use my DSLR, and most of the photos I took were on my very old and crappy point and shoot. The bleachers were semi-shaded so it kept the direct sun off us, but it was still very hot. They also loosened the dress code for us due to the high temperatures, so I was able to wear shorts (but added a sequined tee to dress it up a bit).

I would guess that only about half of the celebs in attendance walked to the end of the red carpet where the bleachers were placed. Tom Hiddleston didn\’t come to our end, and must have gone straight into the Microsoft Theater from the media/interview section.
Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy
I was the only person in my section of the bleachers screaming for Miranda Otto, and people around me were asking me who she was.
Louie Anderson (and Caleb McLaughlin at the bottom)
Sarah Paulson (green dress) and Marcia Clark (next to her in black dress)
Courtney B. Vance
I was the only person to go crazy for Michelle Dockery, Gina Torres (everyone else was screaming for Laurence Fishburne), and the Sherlock (BBC) production team of Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue.
Most of the celebs were rushing to get into the theater by the time they reached the bleachers section (we were at the very end of the red carpet), so it was really difficult to get good pictures.
A few did stop for selfies, notably the Stranger Things kids and Jon Voight. Gwendoline Christie did some fun poses for us, which was fun.
I really hope I get to sit in the bleachers for the Emmys again, and I\’ll be upgrading my point-and-shoot camera very soon! At the very least, I was able to cross off one more awards show from my bucket list (see my previous posts about the Oscars red carpet).
